Hosting students from other countries is something I really enjoy doing. I have five years of experience being a homestay host. Since my kids got married and moved out, I have been at home alone, which is why I really like having students at my house. One of the main reasons I have been doing this is to interact with students from other countries, learn about their cultures, and more importantly, being able to help them adjust to a new country while they are studying. my home is close to george brown college, university of toronto,ilac international school,ilcs ,bloor collegiate institute,comunity centre and toronto downtown.
My interests and hobbies include reading, watching theatrical shows, and cooking. I am a welcoming, kind person who thoroughly enjoys helping others. I have two children and three grandkids. In my spare time, I love to spend quality time with my grand children, take them to the park, and read to them.
In terms of house rules, I ask that students only have two visitors at a time. They are not permitted to have sleep overs with their friends. It is expected that they maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathroom and that they respect the privacy and belongings of the other students.
In regards to the layout of the house, my room and space is downstairs. I have a separate entrance. My house is a bungalow. The bedrooms for the students are upstairs. They normally enter through the front door, while I use the back door to enter and exit.
